Leadership & being… - it’s about both

It's about both. Your leadership. And your life. So, what do I mean by that?

Whether you hold a formal leadership position or not, I believe that the greatest potential for growth and success lies in the deep connection between leadership and how we live our lives. My coaching engages with both.

LEADERSHIP

Yes, it’s about leadership as we often discuss it. But it goes deeper. It’s YOUR leadership of yourself – being the captain of your own life and succeeding in what truly matters to you.

With that comes the need and capacity to lead others or drive significant change, because we often want to achieve more than we can accomplish alone.

Modern leadership approaches are also in focus – understanding how the quality of your conversations and the safety of your relationships are crucial to success. There’s a curiosity about what we can achieve together, not through rigid hierarchies that slow us down, but with more wisdom, empathy, trust, and individuals who take ownership. Perhaps you recognize terms like "chief leadership," co-leadership, or teal organizations…

And is it only for those in formal leadership roles? No. I focus on those who take responsibility. Responsibility for their own lives. Responsibility for others. And maybe you’re driving a bigger change that’s crucial to succeed in. You might be a CEO, founder, or leader – but it’s really about helping those who take responsibility. Titles aren’t what matters.

BEING – Your life, your way of being...

The greatest resources we have come from how we live our lives, and how we perceive and engage with the world through our language, emotions, and body. Developing leadership begins with examining how we live.

Since our language creates our version of reality and is used to make things happen with others, it becomes critical how we "tell the story" to ourselves. This self-awareness includes recognizing how we act through language – how we ask for help, how we listen, and how we make agreements with each other.

The same goes for our emotions and the moods we find ourselves in. Our entire nervous system is designed to protect us based on past experiences and learning. But it can be challenged in responding appropriately when everything around us changes at lightning speed. The emotions we can feel, and the underlying mood we find ourselves in, are vital in determining what we believe we are capable of – and what we think we can’t do.

My approach to coaching and development focuses on increasing your awareness and self-insight about your moods and emotions, enabling you to better master how to shift into an emotional state that supports your success from a better place. Quite often, it is through the body that this shift happens during a coaching process—both the posture and muscles of your body, as well as your nervous system, can learn new ways to respond. This leads to a shift in your language and mindset toward a more empowered place. Many of my coaching clients experience significant breakthroughs regarding the goals or challenges they are working on when we focus on the domains of emotions and body.
